description

Roanoke County features beautiful public parks with easy access to several great fishing locations, all in close proximity to the modern amenities of a suburban environment. Stocked fisheries accessible from public park locations include sections of the Roanoke River to the east and west of the city, as well as Glade Creek, which runs through the town of Vinton.
Roanoke County fishing locations are best known for stocked rainbow and brown trout, but a variety of species can be caught here including bluegill, redeye, sunfish, white perch, and the occasional bass or catfish.

Looking for more outdoor adventure? Roanoke County owns and operates Camp Roanoke, a year-round outdoor recreation facility. Talk to our staff about lodging, meeting spaces, a high and low ropes course, or to book guided excursions like rock climbing and whitewater kayaking. Located just minutes from the Roanoke River, just off I-81 exit 132. Learn more at www.CampRoanoke.com
