Montgomery County fishingMontgomery County is approximately 40 minutes from the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport and a short distance to surrounding localities in the New River Valley, including; the City of Radford (Radford University); Pulaski County (Claytor Lake State Park); Giles County (Appalachian Trail) and Floyd County (Blue Ridge Parkway). The New River is the namesake for this beautiful region and is one of the natural elements that connects these localities. This State-designated Scenic River flows northward and holds the distinction of being the second oldest river in the world! Many say the best smallmouth bass fishing in the state can be found here.
