SUMMARY:Striper Mafia Tournament Series
DESCRIPTION:The Striper Mafia is hosting our ninth season of a “CPR” (Catch-Photo-Release) tournament series on Smith Mountain Lake\, VA. Events will be held in March\, April\, October an November\, during which the “slot” is in place to protect our larger fish\, and be conducted in a “Catch-Photo-Release” style. The format will feature a Captain’s meeting on the evening before at a location to be defined to review the rules and hand out approved measuring devices & photo token cards and “lines in water” will follow at safe-light as designated for each tournament\, with the “check-in” at a time to be determined later that day. Tournament fees are to be paid at the Captain’s Meeting (in cash). Pre-registration is encouraged due to the limited number of slots\, but we ask that you have full intention of fishing the event before registering. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTournament Dates\n\n\nMarch 23\, 2024\nApril 27\, 2024\nOctober 19\, 2024\nNovember 23\, 2024\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\nSpring Fling\n\nCaptains Meeting:\nIndian Point Marina\n6-8 pm – 4/26\n2031 Morewood Rd. \nHardy\, VA 24101 \nLines In: 6 am \nPost-Tourney Check-in: \nSmith Mountain Building Supply\n13080 Booker T Washington Hwy.\nHardy\, VA 24101 \n3-4 pm – Must be in line by 4 pm.\n \n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTournament Entry Fees\n​Team Entry Fee (per tournament): $100\nBig Fish (optional – per tournament): $25\nBiggest Bass (optional – per tournament – $10\n\n\n   \n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\nYouth Competition\n\nYouth (15 and under) may participate in an overlay competition in which they participate as a part of a team\, and submit one fish from the team’s catch as their entry into the Youth Competition.  1st – 3rd Place trophies & prizes will be awarded – and all Youth participants not placing will be eligible for a Youth only raffle for prizes.  Sponsored by Captain’s Quarters \nThis season we have a Youth of the Year award for the youth with the largest total inches across the 4 main events – they will win a custom rod built for them by Back Creek Custom Rods \n​Let’s get the next generation of anglers involved in striper fishing now! \n\n\n \n\n \n\nLadies Big Fish of the Series Competition\nThe lady angler who catches the longest fish of the 4-event series will win nice prize donated by Jo & Co Jewelers’.  There is no additional fee to be entered in this series-long competition. \n\n \n\n \n\nSmall Fish of the Tournament\nThe team with the smaller striper – of one of their two entries – will win a Cash prize each tournament.  There is no additional fee to be entered in this per-event competition.  \n\n \n\n \n\nTeam of the Year\n\nTeams participating in multiple events will compete for the Team of the Year honors. \nTeam of the Year is determined by the total sum of all four event scores\, with the all teams in each event being awarded points based on their placing.  Details to be included in the 2023 Rules. \n\n\n\nTournament Payouts\n\nPlacing Payouts: \n1 – 10 Teams:\n1st Place: 50% of entry fees\n2nd Place: 30% of entry fees \n11 – 20 Teams:\n1st Place: 40% of entry fees\n2nd Place: 25% of entry fees\n3rd Place: 15% of entry fees \n21-30 Teams:\n1st Place: 35% of entry fees \n2nd Place: 25% of entry fees \n3rd Place: 15% of entry fees \n4th Place: 5% of entry fees \n31-40 Teams:\n1st Place: 35% of entry fees \n2nd Place: 22.5% of entry fees\n3rd Place: 10% of entry fees \n4th Place: 7.5% of entry fees \n5th Place: 5% of entry fees\n​\n41-50 Teams:\n1st Place: 25% of entry fees\n2nd Place: 20% of entry fees\n3rd Place: 12.5% of entry fees \n4th Place: 10% of entry fees​ \n5th Place: 7.5% of entry fees \n6th Place: 5% of entry fees \n50+ Teams:\n1st Place: 25% of entry fees\n2nd Place: 17.5% of entry fees\n3rd Place: 12.5% of entry fees \n4th Place: 10% of entry fees​ \n5th Place: 7.5% of entry fees \n6th Place: 5% of entry fees\n7th Place: 2.5% of entry fees \n10% of entry fees go to one or more cash-raffle prize(s) for the non-placing teams at the Awards Ceremony.  10% of entry fees retained for tournament expenses.  Must be presented to win. \nBig Fish: 100% Payout of optional Big Fish entry fee to winner with single longest fish. \nRaffles: Many of our sponsors have graciously provided product and services to be given away during the event.​  Each team present at the post-tournament check-in will be entered into the raffle for prizes.
