Craig County
Welcome to Craig County, where your next adventure is just around the bend!
Travel Virginia Scenic Byways Rt. 311, Rt. 42, and Rt. 615 to over 112,000 acres of the George Washington-Jefferson National Forest. Located in the Allegheny Mountains on the southern end of Virginia’s Western Highlands, Craig is an enormous playground with no traffic lights, perfect for day-trips or week long vacations.
Barbours Creek and Potts Creek are stocked with brown and rainbow trout by VDGIF. Other pristine mountain streams include Craig’s Creek, John’s Creek, and Cove Branch and offer the challenge of naturally sustained fish populations in secluded and scenic forest settings. Also, check out Potts Creek Outfitters in Paint Bank and the Catfish Ponds at Carper Quick Mart. Something for everyone to explore!
